Selective Catalytic Reduction of NOx with Urea as BS-IV Solution: Kinetic and Simulation approach

The main focus of this project was on BS-IV solution. Exhaust gases from internal combustion engine includes NOx, HC’s, CO, and Particulate Matter (PM) which are hazardous in nature. In this project we focused on the NOx emission, for which we chose Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) as the after-treatment solution. The work included the kinetic study of the SCR. The rate determining step for SCR was found to be a Chemical reaction. We also studied the effect of different length of Vanadia catalyst on the NOx conversion and NH3 slip numbers.

Bio-methanation of Solid Waste
- Guided By: Prof. V. V. Mahajani from ICT, Prof. G. B. Dawre and Mailhem Ikos Pvt. Ltd., Pune


Bio-methanation of solid waste includes production of bio-gas from organic waste. Aim was to increase the formation of methane gas using microbes found in cow-dung. This gas was then further used for domestic purpose, electricity generation, etc.
